About Pastor J.

Pastor Jessie L. Simms was born and raised in Southeast, Washington, DC. While being born with a life changing disability, he thrived while being raised in the then current murder capital of the United States. As a son of a single mother, he defied the odds to first live, then graduate and become successful while remaining in that same neighborhood.

At the age of six he gave his life to Christ, and not long after received his calling from God to become a preacher. By age nine Jessie had already preached his first sermon and spoken in front of thousands of people at the Washington Monument during the Black Family Reunion in Washington, DC. Young minister Simms would headline youth events, lead Bible study and support youth ministry both through the Church and secular means. He was the unofficial youth counselor of both his middle school and high school. 

In 2010, Jessie was first called to the pastorate when founding Kingdom Way Empowerment Church in Washington, DC. He has since held 2 other assignments as Pastor; Kingdom Empowerment Christian Center in Clinton Maryland and currently He is the Senior Pastor of MegaFaith Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The names and location may have changed, but the vision has remained consistent. Pastor Simms. as a respected spiritual leader is devoted to Kingdom Teaching, reaching out to the community, and impacting lives through outreach, giving, service, acceptance, and love. Innovative programs such as Sold-Out Community Day, Gas on God (done during the highest prices in years), Back to School Impact Day, and Feeding and supplying the homeless, are just a few programs successfully run by Jesse Simms ministries. Thousands of homeless have been served, thousands of loaded backpacks given away, free health screenings, nearly $10,000 of free gas given away, and new toys for children given while championing The Good News of The Gospel.

As a progressive Pastor, He has a vibrant presence in media. Sharing the gospel on all available forms of media; Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. With nearly 260k followers, He is known by many as the TikTok Pastor, hosting over 50 million views internationally sharing Jesus Christ, faith and kingdom living. He has also been invited to speak and conduct leadership training in several cities nationally (Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Raleigh, Atlanta, Washington DC to name a few).

Jesse Simms is multi-talented and the picture of diversity. He wrote his first play at the age of 19. He also directed the production and performed as the male lead. He found a love for standup comedy and successfully toured the Atlanta comedy scene until the demands of ministry required his full attention. His greatest comedic accomplishment was taking 3rd place at Amateur Night at the Apollo in Harlem, New York. He is an expert media specialist skilled in both visual and audio media arts and graphic design. He has served as a consultant to multiple ministries and has offered services and workshops on building great media presence, audio and visual media and graphic design. Outside of some training at Howard University for theater, Jesse is self-taught in all the above areas of success and expertise. 

Pastor Jessie L. Simms was born at Greater Southeast Community Hospital. He was stillborn, unbreathing and without a heartbeat and needed to be resuscitated. At birth, it was thought that he was deprived of oxygen, which led to him being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Many doctors expressed to his mother that he would never be able to walk, talk, think, or function as a healthy human being. After several years in a wheelchair, Jessie completed therapy and matured enough to use a walker. Despite the limitations of the walker, he was still able to live a relatively normal life. At age 9, he believed God to live without using a walker and has never used one since. Today, he is a successful pastor, husband, father of two and example of what faith can accomplish. He uses his life story and experiences to inspire everyone that encounters him. He constantly preaches about “Life Without Excuse.” As a pastor and motivational speaker, he has spread words of encouragement to a variety of age groups and touched the world with the Gospel.
