2024 The Year of Undeniable Faith
Pastor Jessie L. Simms was born and raised in South East, Washington, DC. At birth, it was thought that he was deprived of oxygen, which led to him being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Many doctors expressed to his mother that he would never be able to walk, talk, think, or function as a healthy human being. After several years in a wheelchair, Jessie completed therapy and matured enough to use a walker. In spite of his limitations with the walker he was still able to live a relatively normal life. He uses his life story and experiences to inspire everyone that comes in contact with him. As a young motivational speaker he has spread words of encouragement to a variety of age groups.
At the age of six he gave his life to Christ, and not long after received his calling from God to become a preacher. By age nine Jessie had already preached his first sermon, and spoken in front of thousands of people at the Washington Monument during the Black Family Reunion in Washington, DC. Among many talents that Jessie have, he always love acting, he studies theatre at Howard University in Washington, DC. In 2007, he wrote his first stage play called “Don’t Judge Me for Who I Am” that he also directed, produced and stared in it. He showcased the stage play in Washington, DC; his first show was such a success, it returned a week later by popular demands!
In 2010, Jessie was called to Pastor Kingdom Way Empowerment Church in Washington, DC. As a respected spiritual leader and devoted to reaching out to the community, Jessie created a ministry called Sold Out Community Day. He used this ministry to reach out and impact the community that his church was in. Through his vision and the support of the partners, they was able to give back to the community by giving away free clothes, toys health screening and having live entertainment.
In 2011, under his spiritual covering Dr. Shuan Vance, Senior Pastor of Upon This Rock Christian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD Jessie moved his church from Washington, DC to Clinton, MD and later changed the church name to Kingdom Empowerment Christian Center. After two years of pastoring KECC, under the direction of the Holy Spirit Pastor Jessie shut down the ministry and sat under his spiritual covering for 3 more years.
Jessie discover another talent as a stand-up comedian, he decided to take every negative situations that he had been through in his life by making them positives so he can make people laugh! Jessie started performing at many open mics around Washington, DC. In 2012, Jessie performed and won 3rd place at Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY, there he performed in front of 1300 people.
God instructed Jessie to move to Atlanta, Ga. in 2014, since then he had the opportunities performed his comedy all over the Atlanta metropolitan area. He also connected with Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Senior Pastor of House of Hope Atlanta in Decatur, Ga. Dr. Smith gave Pastor Jessie the opportunity to speak at House of Hope Altanta, he also spoke at several churches in Atlanta. Pastor Jessie is the Senior Pastor of MegaFaith Center in Riverdale, Ga.
In 2020 Pastor Jessie Meet Sadia Seales and the two courted for a few months. After a few months of courting and getting to know each other Pastor Jessie Proposed and Married the love of his life in 2021. Pastor Jessie is also the proud Parent of Paradise Harris and Jessie L. Simms Jr., who drives him to be the best father and Pastor that he strives to be in Gods eyes. Pastor Jessie is a great Father and wonderful husband and as a family they are proven to be willing vessels that is following Gods plans for their lives.
